Hey all, I currently have my monitors (BX5-A) connected directly to my Tascam 2488. However, I just purchased a new soundcard (M-Audio Audiophile 2496 USB) for my computer, which I would like to also connect the monitors to.

My question is...what type of adapter do I need in order to have my monitors connected to both my 2488 and my soundcard simultaneously? Is this even possible?

Thanks!

I'm not shure if you could buy a "dubbly Y splitter" <(not the official name)
but you could probably make one, by splicing an old guita cable and an RCA cable then conect that to the type of plug you use for your monitor (1/4" or XLR or whatever) but this methold is not advisableeven if you are an experianced electrician, but depending on your monitor (I'm not too familiar with your monitor) you might be able to plug your tascam into the 1/4" jack and the other device into the XLR port, but depending on how your moniter is wired it might work or it might ruin it, or it might not be possigle (if you only have an XLR jack persay) but thease are just some suggestions, you should probably ask at a music store or the source or something to see if they have any adapters like that.

NOTE: I'm not responsible if you blow something up.. good luck :D

Send the stereo output from the audiophile into the tascam then monitor it all from the tascam.

I was hoping to bypass the tascam so I didn't have to fire it up each time, but I guess this is the best way.

Thanks for your help!
