My fried Fred, a keyboard player, is allways wearing his footswitches out. I work as a machinist and I noticed that
the heavy duty, on off footswitch for the lathes chuck mechanism was probably the same. I asked the repair guy the
next time he came in if they could be used for the sustain
footswitchs for keyboards explaing the function needed and
he said he didnt see why not. The reason I bring this up is
I have worked on lathes that were 30 years old and the foot
switch must have been used a couple of million times (maybe not an exageration)and they showed no signs of breaking down. I looked up the price of some of them in the
Manhattan Supply Companies catalogue (machine tools and machinists equip, every company has one)and you could probably get a pedal that would last a liftime for around 150.00 bucks. Im a guitar player just trying to help and this might be of some help, but check for sure if you are interested in buying one, I am not 100% sure they will work but they are momentary on off footswithces and Fred is going through $20.00 footswithces about every 3 or 4 months. I had stated 7 months but checked w/Fred and thats
his story and hes sticking to it.
