I've been experimenting with electronic drums a lot recently and as such have acquired a large number of sampled hits. In order for these to be useful to me, they need to be short, mono, .wav format, and within a certain volume range.
So I laboriously went through my library of clips, standardized their volumes, trimmed them down, and converted them to mono wavs.
Audacity, being the genius PoS* it is decided all of my clips needed to be padded out to at least 5 seconds. 5 second clips are worthless to me, so I started trying to trim them down in Reaper, but it looks like Reaper agrees with Audacity on this one.
Long story not quite as long. Does anyone know any tool that I can use to trim these clips down en masse? I don't particularly want to spend hours trimming them manually (especially if the software I use is just going to blow them up again.)
*The 'S' is for "software." It's a piece of software. I don't know what you were thinking.
