Modern rock (w/video)

I've been revisiting a mix from a few weeks ago that I'd like to get polished off and put in the 'done' pile

Anyway, here it is...

(some people will frown at the youtube link, but if you watch it in HD then the audio is fairly good quality )

In that mix the overheads are waaayy too loud. I tried dropping them back and this allowed the kick and snare to punch through, so that's pretty much sorted. Other than that I just feel its a little lacking down the bottom-end. Any thoughts?

I'm with ya on the cymbals...Thought the mix was pretty good otherwise...The homemade video look was kinda cool,too....I would spotlight the guitar solo on the vid instead of having the cam fixed on the drums and rhythm...That's if you even filmed it.....But, nice work.

Amongst all the excitement of getting that perfect solo take, no-one remembers to get the camera out...


The mix is now sounding a lot better with the overheads dropped back. I think I was so excited that I'd finally got an overhead sound I liked that I left it really high in the mix! Its not worth uploading another version of the video for, but when I'm happy with this final mix I'll post the MP3.

Any more comments?

Some nice riffing you've got going on here...
video looks pretty good too. Sound on youtube is what it is, but the arrangement and the recording sound pretty good. Song's nice, Though I thought the cookie monster vocals sounded kind of weak, like they didn't click in too well. Not recording-wise, it's the character of the voice. Melodic vocals sound pretty good. Good band!

Good recording & pretty good song. Would have been nice to see the guitar player during the lead but, oh well! I don't care much for the "cookie monster" vocals, but that's just me. I'm more from the older school of hard rock/metal. Good song & good recording!!!
