Modding tube units pes, etc

hi, got a drawmer 1960 and some tl audio ivorys with 12ax7 tubes (or what ever you call normal little tubes). The drawmer has some big tubes in it. Are any ofthese units worth tube swapping and if so is it as simple as just swapping tubes
