Mobile pre does not record on my iMac os x

Model: imac 2011
OS: 10.7.2
CPU: 2.5 GHz
Memory: 2GB (2 X 1GB)
M-Audio Products: mobilePre, Microphone =(NT1-A, XLR), (Shure /XLR)


I installed protools se, and then installed pro tools 9 and all the updates I could find. I can hear sound when I add an instrumental but when I press the red button in order to record then play its just silent . Started with the (NT1-A compressor/XLR) Then used another microphone to check if it was damaged (Shure /XLR) and I got the same result PLEASE help everything is new by the way.
 
I am not sure how to tell if that is the issue. Is there a way i can find out?


Its a Mobilepre (2nd) version and I had the first M-audio Fast Track used it with the (NT1-A) and it worked fine with phantom power.
 
I m pretty sure that is your problem. Remove the compressor from the factor and your NT1-A will work fine.
