Picked up some DAW's and a midi controller a couple of months ago and I'm having a blast making mixes. This one is a cover of a well known tune by Foster the People. I did the arrangement, my vox. How's it sound?

This isn't my cup of tea... but the Billy Joel cover was lovely and you have a nice voice. Add a little big room reverb to the piano and touch (more?) of small room reverb on the vocals and that one's mint.

Good - tough to mix backing tracks - I've seen lots of people asking how to do it around here. It`s a fine line between what reverbs match and compression on the vocals. :D:D:D:D

Nice! I like it. I'm not sure I agree with the other posts though. I personally liked the level of reverb, etc. I wouldn't change anything.

I am surprised that I missed your presence here previously. Talk to you soon. :)

did you compress your voice ?
use something smooth like a LA2A or 1176. the voice misses weight in the low-mid area. It sounds very small.

Those compressors are pretty expensive. Good, but expensive...

Yeah, I'm on a student budget for the time being (which means I'm broke as hell), so 'spensive goodies are out of the question for now. Graduating in December though and will have a nurse's salary to work with, so hopefully I will be able to beef up my setup in the near-ish future.
