mixing mp3s?

Anyone know of a program that allows me to mix and possibly master a mp3? I've got Cool Edit Pro & Sound Forge 6.0 but have yet to find any options for this with them.

An Mp3 is just a Compression scheme to make "wave" files smaller. I myself dont know of any Program that can extract tracks and Mix Mp3s. Dont think its possible.

Convert your mp3 files into wave files and use your favorite editing/mixing program. Keep in mind that the wav files will sound exactly like the original mp3 files (compression and all) You will unable to get back the original wav.

You can do this but at the most it will still be a 2 track Stereo wave file. You will be limited to what you can do with it.
