Mixing MIDI tracks : how ?

I'm new to cakewalk (audio Pro 9).

How can I do the *very basic* action of mixing 2 or more MIDI tracks to one new MIDI track ?

I spent some hours trying that edition, but I did not find any way to do that.
Perhaps I've been missing something ?

Can someone help me ?

By the way, I've been using SmpteTrack on Atari ST for a long time and I would like to find the same features in Cakewalk, perhaps with CAL macros ?

Could you please explain why you would want to combine two midi tracks?
If you do they will both play the same instrument,if you're working with a multi-timbral instument(as most are these days)you get 16 tracks of different instruments.

you could just drag one track on top of the other,there's probably a better way but this will work.

If I record 2 piano parts in MIDI tracks (for instance, left hand and right hand separately), how can I mix these two MIDI tracks in one MIDI track ? Ok, it will play the same sound but it's what I need.
Another example, how can I mix all the drum parts (splitted with 1 drum instrument per track) into one global drum MIDI track ?
Perhaps with a CAL function ?

I'm afraid Cakewalk has less capabilities than my "old" SmpteTrack software on Atari ST ... released in the 80's !

Anyway, all tips are welcome.

I have just found the way to do it :

1. Select all the MIDI tracks to be mixed
2. Copy (ctrl - C)
3. Paste (ctrl - V) and select "paste to one track"

Well, I'm just getting used to Cakewalk ... !

Additional remark:

If the channel is set to '--' , playback uses the default MIDI channels defined in the MIDI events.
If the channel for the track is set to 1 thru 16, this channel overrides the original channels assigned to the MIDI data (visible in the event window).
