I'm fairly new to home recording and I'm at the point where I want to learn about mixing. I've taken a look at loads of the links, articles mentioned in this forum and they've been a great help. Thanks! I think it would help me a lot if there was a good article/tutorial/book related specifically to the mixing tools that come with Adobe Audition 1.5...Anyone?

Hello ShaunMadrid. If you've already began to acclimate yourself to the recording and mixing environment in a general sense, I would first recommend learning the manual and/or online manual for AA. After doing that, you should come to realize that the tools in AA are pretty straight forward. Are you at a point in AA that you can't understand, or have you not messed with the program much yet. If you haven't, I would just start playing around with the progam on your own - it's amazing how much you can learn from that.

Otherwise, Cool Edit Pro is the former name of Audition. As you will see, HR has a forum specific to it where you can ask questions regarding it.

It's just that I've read articles such as "How to Mix a Pop record from Scratch" and it would be great to have something like that, but with the instructions & screenshots on how to achieve each step with Audition...

But, you're probably right (dammit...no easy way out!). I've just printed out the manual (all 378 pages-arrgghh!!) ...

Now I've gotta drag it home and read it!

Many thanks,

ShaunMadrid :)

No problem. That's a lot of pages. Good idea though. I print and 3-ring bind all of my manuals and any reference material for recording and mixing. Makes it easier to learn imo. Let us know if you have any specific questions as they arise, in the Cool Edit forum.
