Hey there,

I hgave made a mix that i am happy with. The problem is that when i play it on my monitiors or on a big cd player it sounds fine. I played it on my mates computer the other day though and the levels were going everywhere...how can i fix this. His other cds sounded fine...just my mix. Is it to do with regulkating the highs and lows...how do you do this??
Cheers,
C

Depends on YOUR equipment, Depends on what YOU'RE recording... :D

Yep, you've just run up against the magic of mixing songs. Fun, isn't it? You just have to keep at it until you like the sound of it on a bunch of different systems. Well, like may be a strong word. Don't hate it too bad may be better.

But yeah, level wise--nothing should clip on your master fader in your digital mixer (go above 0 dB). You may need to add some compression and/or limiting to achieve that; either to individual tracks or the master bus. And just listen to the tracks as you add dynamics. If it starts to distort, back it off.
