Mixing 424

Hi, i'm after a bit of advice if anyone can help out, (which you have done so well in the past). I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with mixing my tracks. I basically, at the moment, fiddle around with the levels until the song sounds alright, but I was wondering if there are specific levels I should be aiming for, for different instruments or certain amounts of low or high frequencies I should be implementing. I use a Tascam 424 MKII so anyone who can help out I will be very grateful to. Hope I have made sense.

Bruce, you did a great job on those articles at your site (nice site too).

However...
On the EQ "chart", I think there's a typo.
Did you mean 7.5 kHz instead of 2.5 for "sibilance"?
