Hi all, I have been reading around the message board and some of you guys have tons of experience so I would love someone's advice on my next purchase.

I have a few machines that I would like to tie together all into one nice solution with a mixer.

My current Sound Card is an EMU-0404 which is connected via a PCI card, and two 1/4 inch analogue inputs and outputs allow my Roland MV 8800 to send and receive audio back and forth. However, the card does not have any other 1/4 inch ports so 2 other machines that I would like to hook up ( A Turntable & an ASR-X Sampler) are sitting unused.

Since I'm using the Sound Card in my computer, I'm forced to use the software mixer, and i cannot hook up anything else.

My questions are:

1. Will I still have use for my sound card when I purchase a mixer?
2. Can any one recommend a Mixer to use in order to tie everything together?

I'd appreciate any help on this matter as I don't have much knowledge here.

P.S. Here is a link to the specifications of my current soundcard http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp?product=10447&nav=technicalSpecifications

1) Yes you will always need an analog to digital - digital to analog converter to get in and out of your DAW. Some computers have them built in. I suppose some digital mixers can also access the computer via usb.

2) You might want to google "digital mixers" or check or call Sweetwater for an inexpensive one compatible with your set up.
