mixers and adats

I have a fender 5200 16 channel mixer and i have an adat I send channels 1-8 from the mixer to the adat to record then from the adat to channels 8-16 to monitor no problem now I have 2 adats and I want to record and monitor 16 channels I read something about going from the adat to the buss section on the mixer in like groups I think but I dont understand thanks for any help I am thinking of buying an alesis32 I have found them used very cheap agian thanks for any help

Adat situation

if you have a 16 channel board, why not, have
1-8 from board into ADAT 1, from ADAT 1 into board 1-8
8-16fromboard into ADAT 2, from ADAT 2 into board 8-16

the buss is cool too, but I dont know the FENDER well enough
to know about it's routing, also, if you UPGRADE to a board
with OPTICALS you wouldnt need any cabling, just 2 opt cable
that would pass 8 channels in 1 pass, makes monitoring and
recording a lot easier. Also it leaves open your analog inputs
for sound modules, mic's etc...

If you ever start looking, I have (2) FOSTEX VM200 both for $700
you would have 16 digital, 16 analog, 50 pre-set eq's, effects
60mm moving faders, automation etc... that's a 32 channel board
