anyone know of any good 8 channel mixers with 8 in and 8 out that i can use for eqing before recording, and as a pre amp

hmm with direct outs....
i would check out something by yamaha or better yet soundcraft, they have awsome mixers.

behri 2442fx....it has inserts and directs outs....if you want the sends pre then use the direct outs....if you want them post just put them cable in half way on the inserts

Yamaha MG 16/4 -Pretty good price, great quality, and it doesn't take up much space.

Soundcraft M-series has direct outs and inserts on every channel. Comes in handy if you want to use both at the same time. The pre's are pretty good as well; as is the EQ.
