Hi
Regarding cubase sx:

Say I have a midi track. And I add a send effect for say, an EQ plugin. Then I assign the track to this effect by clicking on 'sends+' on the mixer and assigning it that way. Well, there's a small volume control next to each effect you assign and I was wondering, what should I leave it at for EQ? If I leave it on full, it adds too much gain.. hmm am I adding EQ wrong in the first place?

Another question; I was told that it is possible in sound engineering to have something called a 'trigger'. What this does is, say I have a bassline and a kick drum, then i can use the 'trigger' to compress the bassline only when the kick drum plays, hence distinguishing the two tracks... does anyone know how to do this?

Finally, what is the quickest way to turn a midi track into an audio track, so I can process it as an audio file?

Many thanks

Hi there;

Q1. I'm not sure I totally understand what you're doing, but check out the info on "Midi sends" in the operation manual p. 466.

Q2. What you're talking about sounds like a technique called creating a "side-chain." It's not explained in the manual so far as I can tell. Check out:

Q3. See Operation Manual p.680.
