I guess I am wondering becuase a Mackie 1402 or 1604 sounds like a great thing to get...and XDR seems cool...but a lot of people seem to not like those?

Would I be better off with a Yamaha mixer?

Any reccomendations would be helpful.

Hi Wes
I think you'll find that the Mackies will be fine. But if you want to check out some others, look at the Soundcraft Spirit M series and the Alen & Heath Mix Wizards. Both will be more expensive than the Mackies.

I have just started to use the Behringer Digital mixer for Live work with R & B bands and for recording using the Adat interface feeding an Alesis HD24.

It took me a few hours to get used to the different way of working but I now find that its flexibility is amazing.

The inbuilt FX are perfectly suited to live use and I find the Mic Pre,s to be both quiet and to have a Neutral sound.

For the Bucks I think that it is hard to beat.

The build quality is also very good.
