Hi,

I''m planning to buy a mixer to record voice overs with a SM7B mic directly to my Windows 8 Computer.

The audio chipset is integrated so I wonder if the quality can be compromised.

Here's the info about the audio component:

SigmaTel STAC9220 A1 @ Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller [B-0]

Your thoughts?

Hi,
Yes, running a mixer into onboard sound may limit the quality of your recordings.
A better option would be to pick up a small USB audio interface and bypass the onboard sound completely.
