is there any way to take a 16ch mixer and direct out all 16 channels? may be a stupid question but all the mixers i have seen only have 2 to 4 direct outs.

On some mixers each track has an insert jack. Just don't insert the 1/4" phono jack all the way in. Sounded like a klooge (kluge?) to me at first but it werks.

Also, some mixers do have direct outs on each channel... usually a bit higher up the price ladder.

If it doesn't you can use the inserts, as gtr_guy26 said.

AH has them on the Mix Wizards, but there's only 10 (mic pre) channels on their 16 channel board...

Mack's have 8 on the 1604...

I hate to say that I think Berry has a board with 24/24...

allen and heath makes a 14/4/2 mixwizard, with 10 mic pre's, with 10 direct outs. they also make a 16/2 wit h16 channels and 16 direct outs
