I am starting to record more high quality (which isn't great quality because of my 14 year old budget). I was wondering if I could use my Peavy MP400 to record the bands songs. Just something that we could get two simultaneous tracks on for timing purposes. Would this mixer (which is intended for live use) work for the 6-10 track recording I am trying to do? thanks, derek

That mixer probably wouldn't be the best for the use you describe. A mixer is not enough to record anything on it's own...

You'd be much better off with an all-in-one multitrack with a built-in mixer. Raise some money from your band mates and consider this:

I will be using the line out in the mixer to send it to my computer. Would you still reccomend a multi-track recording? Oh, my software is N-track Studio Version 4 Beta.

If you're hell bent on computer recording, page thru the same site the link above takes you to, but look for an external mixer (like a Behringer, for example) that won't be too expensive but will allow you to route clean signals to and from your computer.

Now you're talkin' Thanks...

Thanks for the reasonable advice.
