Mixer question (reassurance), I need an answer within an hour! please!

Just to confirm it the Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 8-Channel Mixer makes 8 seperate tracks (for ex.: 4 mics (need preamps) plugged into the xlr inputs, drums(already mixed into one channel), bass, and 2 guitars) and a final 2 stereo tracks for right and left.

by the way this question probably seems really stupid

In what way do you mean "makes 8 separate tracks"?

Mixers normally take multiple inputs and mix them to a stereo L/R track - are you asking if you can use this device as a recording interface and pass all 8 tracks directly through to your PC as individual tracks, not actually mixed?

If so, I'd be surprised if it did, but I'm not a mixer / PC recording guy, so I'm just guessing.
