The other day I got the Multimix 8 usb mixer and the at 20-20 mic. I hooked everything up correctly, the mixer gets a signal from the mic when I talk into it, the only problem is, the computer reconizes the mixer but when I try to sing or talk or rap, the mixer, gets signal, but cubase doesnt, or mixcraft or any other software. I brought in my laptop and it still didnt work. What do I do?

Two things come to mind. One, make sure you have phantom power turned on or that mic won't work. Then, in Cubase there must be some place where you have to select which audio device you want to input from. Select the multimix as your source if you haven't already.

cubase wont record the sound, also says I need asio4all. Would the mixer only work on cubase and not the windows sound chooser that shows if a signal is coming.

Also phantom power is on or else the mixer wouldn't receive the signal.

The only thing I can think of is that you need to tell Cubase to look for the sound coming from the mixer and not the onboard soundcard. I don't use Cubase, so i am not exactly sure where in the program it would be (some settings menu) but that seems to be the most likely cause.
