Mixer or mixerless?

why would I go with a mixer when my software already has one? What are the advantages besides liking the feel of a real mixer? I have a firebox and recording direct in with a vamp2. What else do I need? I have monitors,headphones and a mic for vocals and maybe for micing a cab.

I keep the mackie on line for all my direct input monitoring, headphone mixes, extra routing (hardware verbs) and for every time we're doing live-in house music -all the things ther're good for.
It boils down to being needed for a lot of things. But if you're not doing those things then..

yeah I don't think i'll be needing a mixer. Maybe in the future I will.
