When I plug my phantom powered condensor mic (MXL) into my mixer (Behringer MX6020A), then send a line out from the mixer to the Auxillary Input of my portable digital recording studio (Zoom PS-02) it sounds great. But when I try to send the signal from the mixer into the Guitar/Mic Input of my digital recorder , it's heavily distorted, overdriven, mush!
The Aux Input on my digital recorder was designed to accept the line out from a CD player, so you can jam along with a CD. The Guitar/Mic Input is designed for an electric guitar, bass, dynamic mic, etc. Also the Aux In is stereo and the Guitar/Mic In is mono.
It's not a big deal since I can go in through the Aux, but I would like to use the G/M Input to utilize the effects processor in my digital studio(actually has some pretty good vocal processing stuff). So now I'm wondering if I need something to cut the signal down coming out of the mixer. Rolls makes this thing called a matchbox that I'm thinking will help, but I really don't knwo for sure. Below is a link to it.
