I currently have a TASCAM MKII 24 PORTASTUDIO, which I run directly into a Sound Blaster Live Sound card. I have Shure sm57 mics that I use plugged into the portastudio. The sound I get recording guitar and drums still seems compressed or kind of too digital. Is it because of the connection from analog into digital? I'm thinking of gettin a new mixer for more inputs. Would a digital mixer have better sound if I used it through the s/pdif?
