I have a Delta 1010. And searching for a good mixer to work along, i found the Yamha mixer MG 16/4. This mixer have 10 pre-amps with insert I/O each one. I need this insert only for outputs. So, they told that i have two choices: 1) The 1/4 jacks only half the way in. ¿this really work?¿what about the noise?. The second choice is to open the moxer and modified (cut or something like that), que "in", so this insert work only for "output" sign. ¿what do you think?... did Someone knows a mixer not too big that have good pre amps (i heard the Behringer pre amps are not so good) and have direct outs?

Thanks.

yes pluggin in half way into the insert will do what you want with good results.

an alternative to the yamaha mixers are these: www.soundcraft.com

these get lots of good reviews and are better priced than the mackies.

you can also buy cables that will plug in to the insert jacks, and give you a direct out on the other end while still retaining the signal path through the mixer (especially useful for live recording!)

i don't remember where i saw one, but you could always make your own. there are instructions on how to do this on a few different web sites. just look around.

i would also second the soundcraft mixer suggestion.

E8 Spirit

Ok... i check out the E8 Spirit... but it really works ?... it seems that dont have direct out for each line.... only insert,... so, do i have plug onle half way?.... Thanks

yeah it works. If you use the halfway plugged in method, i don't think you will be able to pass any signal through the mixer; you would basically be using the mixer as a bunch of preamps.

Check out the Mackie 1642VLZ. I use this with my Delta 1010. It has 8 direct out connections, perfect match for the Delta.
