Mixer - Cubase interface problems.

Hi everyone... just starting out in home recording and already i've run into the following problem......


I'm having trouble setting up my mixer to run with Cubase (both sx and also the LE bundled software)...

I'm running an Alesis Multimix8 Firewire > Firewire PCI card > Laptop > Cubase SX.

Everytime i select the Multimix (which is detected correctly) on the ASIO menu i get the "Error intializing dice Bus MLERR(5)".

Could the problem lie with the PCI Firewire interface?

I'm stumped, also i can't make the Multimix the Windows default. Is this related?

Any suggestions would be appreciated... this is making me sad!

Sounds like it might be the fire card. Check with alesis on what they recommend

Already emailed Alesis... but in my experience replies take time!
