hey if i import an mp3 into my sequencer and then export it to mp3, do i loose quality over the original mp3?

Depends on what happens in the sequencer.
Are you changing eq and compression for example?
If all you do is import and listen, simply save it, don’t export it so it goes thru another lame process.

If you *export* it -- Even if you do nothing, it goes through the same crappy compression again.

Save yourself the headache (and your 16K and up) and import it as .wav and export it as .wav.
