Mixdown HELP!

I am compiling a soundclip. I have an mp3 and some wav files i am combining to make one mp3.
when i either bounce it all to empty track, or save as or copy as and choose mp3, then i cannot get it to open up in media player or anything? it wont play, saying something about the file extension doesnt match the file type.

What is the way to do this so I can get all 4 tracks saved as an mp3 and able to play ?

In Multitrack, click Edit>Mixdown>All Waves.

It will do a stereo mixdown of the session and take it into Edit View. In Edit View, click File>Save As. In the 'Save as Type' window, make sure mp3 is selected. Then click Save. That will be the mp3 of the entire session. Then go back and make sure you've saved your Multitrack Session in case you want to make changes later.
