Weird. I'm using CW9.03 Pro Audio with Echo Audio Gina20, WinXP. Recording is great, but when I do "Mixdown Audio" and save the tracks as WAV files, the WAV files play back slow, and the pitch is therefore about a whole step low! Any ideas on this one?

Before I switched out my computer, everything ran perfectly on my old Windows 98 machine.

The first place I would look is some sample rate issue.

Are you perhaps recording at 48K but exporting at 44.1K?

Yes, that is very possible. So, is this a fixable problem, now that I have already recorded the tracks at 48k? If it is fixable, how do I fix it? Sorry, that's probably an elementary question, so bear with me!

First, thanks for the help for this relative newbie! But, how do I re-sample it? Is it just a matter of changing the value to 44.1? Or, do I need to do something else in addition to changing this value?

You need software that will convert sample rates. AFAIK Sonar does not have this capability.

I think there are some free converters available on the web (do a Google search), but I can't vouch for their quality. Personally I record, export, master and burn at 44.1K.

Maybe someone else has some experience and can recommend something. However, if you already own a program like Wavelab or Sound Forge - both of them have the ability to convert sample rates.

ah, thanks. Well, at this point I need to try and salvage what I have, since I can't spring for WaveLab yet. I'll probably play the audio off to DAT, reset everything, then play it back in...unless you can think of a better way.

I thought I would try to get a clean copy of the audio and then try the following I found:

Does that look like it might work?

Again, thanks for the help.

Great, thanks again. And thanks for the links.

Wish me luck!
