Hello eveyone! I have cakewalk pro audio 9 and a delta 44. Everything works good until I try to mixdown. No matter what soundcard or bus I use I get the mixdown aborted message. Can anyone help me with some suggestions on what went wrong? Thanks Rattlesnake.

I too have seen this and for me it was simple. During the mixdown when the first dialog box comes up and shows you what your mixing down, the track effects and soundcards used and the filename etc..., I had a souncard output selected that was archived or otherwise disabled. Check to see that you don't have another sound card selected that is in that mode as well.

If any of the tracks that you have selected for mixdown are pointing to a source or output that is not active then the mixdown will abort because the hardware to create the source from is not available.

Hope this helps in some small way. And if I can recreate it (this was from memory) I will post the exact conditions that I had and the fix I used.

Good luck.

I had this same problem, but it was because of something silly. I opened up one of the source WAV files Cakewalk used in Cool Edit without Cakewalk knowing it and modified it. It didn't match up with the version that Cakewalk thought it had, and it kept crashing when I tried to do a mixdown. All I did was edit it with Cool Edit again using the option from the Tools menu, saved it, and let Cakewalk reload it and all was well.
