Hey all,

To bring the level of my mix up, i've been looking for some good hardware, at the minute i've just been using the compressor in Cakewalk. But im on a bit of a budget so the 200 euro mark would be enough. Would the TC M300 be any use?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

The M300 is a multi effects processor. If it has compression in it I would be suprised. If you are doing this in cakewalk, it would be more efficient to get a plugin. The plugins that come with software are notoriously bad (in general), you may just need to step up to something a little better. Anyway, large volume increases require a limiter. Yes, compressing at over 10/1 is technically limiting, but you really need to use something purpose-built for this job. Like the L2 by waves, sonic timeworks has one, I think Wavelab comes with one.

The M300 does have a compressor feature, but I can't imagine it would be anything spectacular.

Anyone know any good Compressor/Limiters? around the 200 mark?

Here's a link to FMR audio, makers of the RNC. No, not the Republican National Committee, the Really Nice Compressor. They probably ship to Europe/UK but you'd have to get in touch w/them. I've owned one for years, and wouldn't trade it for all the teabags in Scotland.

Thanks for that =), All the tea bags in scotland haha.
