How do:
Just recently I upgraded my MD-4 yamaha to the MD-8. I also purchased a Eurorack 1804 external mixer for it. Now in the past, I would mic up my acoustic guitar with an Art tube pre-amp, from there I would run directly into my MD-4. Well the new 1804 has the pre-amps already built into it. However, when when I warmed up to it, I noticed a lot more hiss then when I had from the Art Mp. The mic I'm using is a Shure SM94 and I believe that this mic is sufficient to clean out unwanted noise. I wonder if the mixer is adjusted properly? Any ideas on this? Also is it necessary to mix the beginning tracks? Should I record these dry then later mix to taste? Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks
DL.

Check your trim control. It should'nt be that high. You can record with effects but you can't change it after. If you use effects but don't record them you can adjust it later to get along with the mix. Sometimes when you introduce more instrumentation, it will no longer get along or maybe something else will work better. Why not play it safe.
