All right everyone here is my problem, I recorded audio on cakewalk while recording a show on cameras, when i mixed down the audio to sink it up with the video, it was off by a couple of seconds. Came to find out that during silence cakewalk automatically made the silence shorter. Now here is my question is there a way to make cakewalk not do that? Or has anyone else had this same problem. Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of this (but then again, it's been a while since I was here). The sound you recorded is still a continous wave, right?

And it shouldn't be that hard to extend the pause/silence so that the sound and picture is in sync again.

right i did do that, but what i thought was there was a setting i missed and that is why it happened. the video is now synced, but it took me 2 hours to go though the audio and add more silence, because it is about 3 hours of audio. thanks for the responce :)

The problem is still a little interesting, though. :)

As far as I know, Sonar does not have an automatic gate function, and it should certainly not cut down on the silences.

What kind of soundcard do you have? Computer specs? And "version" of Cakewalk?

Processor: Intel Pentium 4
Soundboard:Creative SB X-FI with I/O Drive
Cakewalk: Music Creator 4 2004
RAM: 1GB

Well it seems that I am VERY special  !!! Here is a little more info for you on how I recorded the sound. I pluged an RCA cable into the soundboard and the other end of the cable was 1/4 in into the I/O on the soundcard. If you need any more info or input from me let me know.

Uhm.... a Creative soundcard? Creative still can't make stable drivers, IMHO.

What driver-model (MME, WDM or ASIO) did you use?
