Hello guys!

This is my first post in this forum. I'm quite new to mixing and would really love to get a fair share of decent critique to point out what I need to work on, I really wish to further improve in making quality music!

Check it out here:

https:// soundcloud (dot) com /markvano /untitled-demo-3 (Sorry for this, I'm a new user)

I appreciate the input!! ;)

You, sir, need to post more. You'll get very few responses when people have to manually copy-paste your link.
A good way to get your post count up is to comment on some other people's posts in the clinic! ;)

That being said, your song is pretty decent. The voices all seem to come through clearly. I wouldn't mind more dynamic contrast between the quiet and loud parts though.
You've got a high frequency click that happens on what I think is your tom equivalent? It's very electronic sounding. It's kind of a neat sound, but it sticks out a bit much having it go through the whole song.

Welcome to the boards! I hope it helps you out.

Sounds great! I really like it. Took just a tad bit too long for the drop for me. But that's just personal preference.

Ey guys!

I really appreciate the input! I'm glad you like it especially since it's my first song that I actually knew what I was doing, meaning that with my earlier songs I had no knowledge of frequencies, panning, and other mixing terminology...

About that high click, do you mean the Snare drum? because I do agree that it should have a more natural sound with more body and less pop, it tends to irritate a bit, but I'm still learning and I can't wait to make my new song.

Also I know it took longer for the drop than usual but I wouldn't call this pure dubstep, it's more of a two steps from hell / dubstep trip that I was experimenting with. But I do agree with you.

Really sorry about the link! And I appreciate that you took the time to give me the heads up and also to repost the link!

Cheers!

Not the snare, no. It's really pronounced starting around 1:33 in the triple hits.

Ah, you mean the marching drums! Oh, yeah you're probably right, but also the snare I mentioned could have a more natural sound to it. Anyways I really appreciate the input, and I've learned some new neat tricks so I'm gonna return here with my new composition which will be pure orchestra. Looking forward to making it sound even better! You should listen to the progress I made from the song I did before this one, to this one, it's quite the difference and I plan to make the same leap again.

Thanks Steve for being kind enough to reply!
