Scott,

Very tight song!! The sucker really drives..I loved the bridge/change (I kinda wish it would have developed more?)

I was wanting some screaming vox to come in and was sure the song would deliver. Alas, it never did:( imho, I'l look at the vox around 2:41 or so and add some screaming backups!!

Everything sounds tight and clean to me

Nice relentless tune......

Peace,

Theron.

Great song!!
Nice Mix!!

Nice full on mix and tight playing

Come On Aussie, come on, come on

Good stuff!!

For some reason, your stuff reminds me of the old Alice Cooper stuff....like off the "Killer" album. Dry recorded, kickin r & r. I DO hear an octave up steven tyler screamin' vocal, like theron suggested. also...a kick butt lead too. Your rhythm section grooves are top notch. Add the ear candy with the riffin' and some vocal pyro-technics....you're there..

I was medium on the bridge section.....kinda took away from me bopping my head back and forth...and didn't do much for me musically as well. I'd love to try and riff on your stuff....well..I just might....so there!!!!

Great dry drum sound...and the bass sound "woofs" out on the low notes just perfectly. Gtrs too!

sounds like it recorded with Win95:D

Scott:

Hearing stuff like this makes me wanna' take my puny acoustic guitar and just smash it up against the wall.

BIG flange right in the middle of the song = COOL

I could hear the vox, and that's about the only thing I feel competent to ever offer any advice about. Sounds great.

I actually dig the bridge...it's like "Phase III" of a song that just keeps building in momentum.

You're too good for me to "critique." It sounds great and it makes my head move back and forth in rapid succession...ala' Beavis.

rock,
-chris

theron:- Thanks and glad you liked it. Where thinking that it could have more vocal and guitar bits at the end passage too.

Tukkis:- Thanks mate. We Aussies are rock'n this side of the planet.

mixmkr:- That bridge piece sounds good coming out of it, but I'm not sure about how we go into it. so where going to sleep on it for a while. Glad you liked the sound of the bass. Was quite a hand killer to pluck. And the drums, well we spend heaps more time on mics, mic placement, drum tuning and room sound. To the point where it now mixes itself. I tracked them with compression on the snare and kick then just a tiny bit of track eq to sit them all in the mix and thats it. No reverb on the kit for this one.

chrisharris:- Glad it got your head movin. Now don't go smashing that accoustic, there too usefull. But it would be kind of fun.

I suppose it's..OK...if you care for rockin ass tunes that make you want to play air guitar and run around the living room and jump on the furniture. Oh well.:D :D :D :D :D

OH FUCK

Just broke my sofa.

It was worth it.

Great tune.

Warp speed Scotty! "But if I give her any more power she's gonna blow! captain."

Scott, big thunderstorm hit while I was listening, and right at the end of your song...wham! ...the power went out.
Just logged back in to let you know this is powerful stuff!

Another winner Scott.I've listened to it 5 or 6 times since last night and it's just cool. The mix is not quite as bright sounding as I like but it's consistent with this type of music.hey!Cool bridge!Im not quite sure if it fits this song but it was cool none-the-less!

I wanna hear some lead guitars at least on the outro tag. That would sound cool.

This is what I want when I want to drive fast! Cool rockin' groove and I like the way the guitars change texture for the verse and chorus. Makes it right!

Only two comments. I would have done a bit of effect on the vocal in some places, just for spice. Maybe an errant echo here and there. Second, the drummer is an excitable boy. I could feel the tempo shift toward the end, but I guess thats just rock and roll--no big deal.

Rock on, lad!

What a great mix. Extremely full in every slot. I'm assuming they were all real instruments. Sure miss that sound. Great job.

How come when people sing they always sound like Americans...?? I mean,.. except for very few exceptions, everyone, no matter what country they're from... (Australia,.. Scotland.. England.. Ireland...) all sound like pure-bred Yankees when they sing rock and roll...

what's up with that..??

Maybe it's the same mysterious phenomenon that allows Ozzy Osbourne to sing in perfectly enunciated english on his albums but talk in slurred, garbled gibberish everywhere else... :p

oh yeah... great tune.. :D

I think there's more of a universal singing accent. But I know what you mean. Specially a scottsman. Like Jimmi Barns (aussie rock singer) is very scottish by accent but you wouldn't know if you heard him sing. And I think that universal singing accent is closer to the american accent than any other. Try to say OH YEEEH, loudly, in a british or other accent (except fo Billy Conelly of course).

Nice live sound. It sounds bit lo fi, like theres wool over the mix.... I would give it some bet 3.4k - 4.7k and some more 8k-11k.

Very very nice scott.

I can see that you are a fan of the foo fighters (as am i) . This song sort of has an 'everlong' feel about it i reckon. I like it!

That bridge rocks! Also the channelling thing at 1.21 or so sounds awesome It sorta makes you feel dizzy just listening to it! - How did you do it????

I'm not sure whether the singing is the right style for this song - but thats maybe cos im expecting Dave grohl. Even so you were awesome. Did you play the bass as well?? i like the bass after the bridge - how it sorta walks up and down and stuff - love it.

all in all - i hope i hear more of your songs soon! Rock is alive down under!

First of all I want to appologise to anyone who read that other thread thats hopefully a page or two away by now. Please leave it there too. I had to defend myself about a certain issue thats been sorted out, Finally. But I'm walking on thin ice. i actually left the BBS that day but after cooling down the next day I came back. Unfortunately King Elvis has left the BBS. Hopefully he too will cool down and be back soon too. King Elvis I know that your at least reading this and beleave me its not worth bailing on this bunch of guy's over one dip shit (that being me). One good thing that came out of it was how much people around here really do care. About all of us. About those who have been here for a while and about those that arived the day before.

Back to music

Track Rat: Glad it got you rockn, air guitar rockn

smellyfuzz: Sorry about the sofa.

Lt. Bob: I usually get "beam me up" But warp speed works better.

mkg: Quote:-Scott, big thunderstorm hit while I was listening, and right at the end of your song...wham! ...the power went out.
end quote:
I did that on purpose

Kramer: I didn't use much eq on the mastering (I really shouldn't be mastering) Have brightened it up though.

crawdad: The tempo shifting is borderline to redo it or not. We would have to retrack the whole thing again to fix it. I don't use the rescale time thing. That always sound way digi. Got to live with it for now.

clay: Yes all real instruments and amps. Would use 2" tape too if I could afford it. But I'm going to stay with the DAW. Non linear editing is way better and potentially more creative.

WATYF: Thanks for you common sense vibes the last few days.

Flash: you got my reply in your other thread

JuSumPilgrim: Ive gotta get myself an analogue stereo eq. Much sweeter top end. And bottom end, and...

yiordanaki: I play the guitar and bass. And I pretend to play violin. That channelling thing at 1.21 is a stereo flanger. In cooledit pro. And Im definatelly a Dave Grohl fan. His music and way's are the reason I got back into music again after a long break.

And a special thanks to B.SABBATH, thanks for listening to my stuff. Its going to take time honey. I know. But don't break the arrow.
