I'm making an album of covers for christmas presents, and cranked this thing out today. I'm not a good singer and did the usual distortion and echo to cover it up. Mix is straight out of PT8 with a little vintage warmer and Eq applied in wavelab.

It's a badly drawn boy song called "Everybody's Talking"

That's a cool song and if it's a cover then someone, either Alice in Chains or the other band, made it sound real close to the same as the other. But I think you need to make the lyrics stand out more. They are buried in the music. Make whatever adjustments you think, but I think maybe move the guitars out further left to right. It's a good song though.

Sounds pretty good. Much less lo fi than I expected. Vocals don't seem too bad at all, but I agree that they should come up a bit in relation to everything else.

Not familiar with the tune, so can't say how faithful this is (if you're even trying for that kind of a cover), but it seems as though you know what you're doing...
