I'm looking into buying a preamp sometime in the next few days and I was really looking into a Mindprint En-Voice MK II. Does anyone know anything about this preamp, and if it's worth the money? Let me know all that you know about this please. Another one I was considering would be a Focusrite Penta, if you know anything about the Penta, or if you'd be able to give me a comparison on these two, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

We have the original version of the Envoice and it's been our bread and butter in our studio. All of the vocal tracks of every band we record go through the Envoice... all of them, because it's 'that' good. :)

We like the Envoice so much that we went out and bought the MindPrint DTC (Dual Tube Channel) to expand our capabilities and do mastering work. The reviews of the MK II have all had high praise for the unit and you can't beat it for "bang-for-your-buck" value. If you can afford the extra $$$ for the DTC I'd go for it. But the MK II is a great preamp in it's own right. The compression in the MindPrint units is absolutely phenomenal... first rate! You can't go wrong with any MindPrint equipment. It's good stuff!

Jeez, I hate to be the last word on this.

Nobody else has an opinion on the new Envoice?????

Got an opinion on the old one though...

Hey Buck62 - I use my Mindprint mainly as a pre - I find once I hit the "Effects" button, the associated noise of the EQ/compressor etc. are too much to bear, although I am recording quiet sources. What's your experience? It's great for gain, just haven't sorted the rest of it yet!

Mindprint En-Voice Does indeed rule

I have had my En-Voice for about 2 years. This thing is the best sound pre out there for the price. For vocals it is crystal clean. It records bass just as well. Hands down one of those rare jems. Get one if, musicians friend does sell the new version, I'll just wait for someone to put it up on ebay

I have the original MindPrint with the digital I/O. The "effects" are too much for me for the most part. I do love this pre however. I use it for snare everytime. Vocals occassionally. I'd buy it again.

You mean new? cuz doesn't it cost like 1500-1600. PLENTY of pre's in that price range. I've never used the Mindprint before, but i'm skeptical about it being the BEST

I have the original.
I used to think it was the "duck's guts" until I bought a Buzz Audio.... and then a Sebatron.
But it's still a decent mid-range pre. I won't be selling it in a hurry.
I now use the comp/eq section in it quite a bit, but rarely the pre.

em i right, or do they sell the mindprints for less then $200 ?
