midi/wave recording

I am semi-new at midi. I have a small home set up consisting of a roland jv 1080, $ track , Midi controller{cheap yamaha keyboard} and a COMPAQ despro 3 with a pentium 3. I recntly started to record both midi and wave at the same time. When i play back what i recorded I get serious delays and or the midi tracks won't play in sync with the wave. I was wondering what shoul I do to rectify the problem?
should I
1. get a more powerful p.c{power mac
2. Get a midi time pice
3. Convert the midi into wave and then record
Like I said I am new at this I am just assuming that one of these will work. Any suggestions.THANKS

They should be in synch. It's probably some sort of configuration issue. Might be you have a really awful sound card, too, I suppose...

Look at nTrack's website (you did mean nTrack, righ? never heard of $track) and see if they have any tips for setting up your sound hardware...
