Hi, I`m trying to convert midi tracks in cubase 5 to audio with my sw1000xg sound card, I`ve got no other external gear except monitors. I read somewhere that I have to connect the line out on the sound card, to the line in and record that way.
Does anyone know another way?????

You should be able to route the MIDI synth output directly to the audio inputs on the card. Not sure how you do it exactly in Cubase 5, but in Cakewalk I select a new track and arm it for recording audio, then mute all the MIDI tracks but the one I want to record, then hit Record. The MIDI track plays, the audio track records it. Repeat for each track. You might have to set some routing options on the card too so that this behavior is enabled...

Hello Alchuck, thanks for the reply, It seems that cubase doesn`t have this facility, or rather the sound card has more to do with it. So I got a lead and plugged the audio-out back into the line in, and this works. see ya,
slinky.....
