I've been recording using some midi instruments through Motu Symphonic.
After mixing I would burn to CD using Nero.
I notice that every now and then a midi note with jump, or reverse. Seems unstable in the end. Is is better to change all your midi tracks to audio tracks when done. Then burn? Then notes can't jump. Or, is there a reason why there not stable. When I go back to the original its fine. Thanks for any help.

You may well be having a problem not with the fact that the notes being played are coming from a midi source as much as how that midi source is set up.

There are a bunch of instruments in an orchestra that are monophonic. That means only able to play one note at a time. Almost all wind instruments fall into this category, as do some others.

If you don't carefully program note lengths - note offs - to come before the next note on you may get unexpected results. Look carefully at your midi data before posting again.

Another problem you may be having is exceeding the available polyphony -- notes available to be played at the same time -- of the plugin. If that's the case and your computer is powerful enough to run two or more instances of the MOTU Symphonic then just split up the parts between the two instances.

Wow, what a midi brain burner. I first went through all midi and made sure they were'nt connecting. Every time I exported checked notes would jump in another spot.
Did your second idea and split the instruments and all is good. Strange becuase I have more midi on other projects under one Motu and didn't get this. Thanks for the help. Ps. Not sure why I don't hear these things in original project file. I have to export to wave in order to check. Only there did I hear the problems. Sure wish they would appear first time out.

I'm not sure either. Plugins can be fickle mistresses but they're wonderful when they work well.

Also not sure why Motu Symphonic gives you 64 tracks if it can't handle 6. One piece I actually have three and I used three instances of motu to do it till it worked. But some pieces worked with one. Makes it hard to troubleshoot.
