I have a standalone soft synth and audio sequencer. Is there a way to convert the midi signal so my soundcard sees it as audio and be able record audio tracks from the synth in realtime? If I get Cool Edit Pro will there be a connection between my synth and the midi tracks from CEP? I know that the program cannot be a host for vstplugins...I want to keep it as simple as possible(if possible) Not very good with midi.
Thanks for any and all help.

What sequencer are you using?

Unless your soundcard has an unique ability, the only way to do this is to route the out of your card back into the In, or bounce the midi file down to audio and open it in your multitrack program.

I think...

The sequencer is n-track. I know it serves as a vst host but I have problems with opening banks for my synth(absynth). Besides I'm confused now with vsti and vst2.0 Not sure what absynth is. I've been thinking about the loop idea, just wanted to keep all the tracks seperate. I do appreciate the help. Thanks
