I have a roland jv80 keyboard and run through my pc with sonar 2.2. Use a echo layla24 sound card with more than enough i/o's. Granted, still trying to figure all the new equipment out and then how they work with each other. All is well with basic midi tracks, but adding audio (recording my guitar or vocals, etc) over the midi, I run into problems with monitoring the both (midi and audio) from sound card heaphones jack. My only mix is Sonar on the pc. I understand that MIDI is sent to sound card, but isn't there a simple way to have my keyboard sound rerouted so I can actually hear mix together? Or am I missing a piece of the pie here? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Why not go ahead and record the keyboard parts to audio. You can always go back and re-record if you need to do some editing. Unless Im misunderstanding your question.

I am still trying to work though it all...so I should be able to use sonar to sequence my midi tracks on the keyboard and record it as audio at the same time? I will give it a shot. I used to use software just for MIDI and then run to 4 track and add audio, so I am not used to the MIDI and audio capabilities yet.

Thanks for suggestion.
