midi recording problem

hi, in the past I could record midi with out any problems....now i can hear midi but Sonar producer will not record the data.

This is killing me!....somewhere something has gone wrong, a setting maybe?
like I said I can hear the notes I play but when I record nothing gets recorded Pleeeeeeease help :)

What do you mean by "hearing" MIDI? Are you playing a midi controller or a keyboard or what? Do you have a MIDI track armed to record? There are too many variables to answer your question. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do?
 
im using a keyboard to trigger midi sounds generated by sorfwear sythns. Yes Im arming the track for recording.

What are you trying to record?

You should be recording the midi data - that is, the MIDI track is the one that needs to be armed and you need to have the MIDI out port on your keyboard connected to the MIDI in port on your sound card.

Once you've recorded the midi, you can create an audio track by selecting both the Midi track and the DXi track and using the "bounce to tracks" command.
