Midi recomendation wanted

Hi - I recently purchased an analog mixer with Midi Mute automation built in. The board is capable of sending midi data about channel muting back to a sequencer for recording and playback later. I have downloaded a couple of midi sequencers that run on a PC and have tried recording with them. The problem I am getting is that I get a "No Notes" message after recording and cannot playback the song/sequence.

Are there PC sequencers (free or otherwise) that support just Program Change Messages without note information? Can anyone recommend one to me? Or, if you are familier with one of the programs I have tried and I am doing something wrong, please let me know.

I have tied Anvil Studio and Jazz midi sequencer...

OK - I answered my own question. I downloaded the Cakewalk Sonar demo and it worked great.
