i have a yamaha psr 225gm running direct connect 2 pc thru midi in out cable connection 2 sound blaster. i own music creator 2003cakewalk,logitech platnum, and trakktor dj studio 2, the only one that automatically configures to my yamaha is logitech but it wont let me record more than 2or3 tracks before it won't pick up anymore. i need to know hw 2 set this up correctly and im hearing 2 differnt things frm friends one says leave it direct connect the other says go buy a board or mixer so i can distinguish channels easier and clearer for recording what i play this setup will be used 4 hip hop r&b tracks so any advice is appreciated ONE UNIQUE

Well, if you have a Sound Blaster card, you can only record two tracks at a time.

You might also want to give us a better description of the INPUTS and OUTPUTS of your equipment (because some of us aren't familiar with the specific equipment that you are using).

How many outputs does the Yamaha piece have?

We know that the SB card only has two inputs.

Are you trying to SLAVE the Yamaha unit to Cakewalk?

Are you trying to record into Cakewalk more than two channels at a time from the Yamha device?
