Midi Problems Helppppp!

Hi

My gear list is as follows:
P.C running cubase vst 32
Maxi studio Isis sound card 8 in 4 out breakout box/Midi in midi out.
Midi man 2x2 interface
yamaha dx 21 keyboard midi in,out and thru.
Alesis Sr 16 drum machine.

Here is the problem, I Can get cubase to recognise all my gear .
The midiman is there and the Alesis.
I can control the Gm voices with the keyboard, and I can use the Alesis as a drum trigger on midi chan 10.
I can use all the patterns on the alesis, but I cannot use the sounds on it.
All I get are the Gm sounds.
Can anyone tell me how to set this system up to use the Alesis sounds through midi.

Any help at all would be realy appreciated.

Thanks

Raven586.

P.s I know how to play the Alesis sounds as audio.

Just to be sure. You do know even with MIDI you still have to hook up the audio cables. MIDI is just for control not audio.

Thanks for the reply

I did not no that sorry for my ignorance.
Is there any way you could tell me how to hook this system up, so that I can record audio from the Alesis and edit my work in Cubase via midi.
I do have a little Behringer mixer with the audio of the drum machine running through it , and this way I can here the sounds on the Alesis.
So do I then record my drum pattern via midi then somehow get the audio to chase the midi at recording time.
I dont know call me confused.

Thanks in advance

Hook up the midi out on your computer to the midi in on the keyboard and out on the keyboard to in on the computer. Hook up the audio cables on the keyboard to your sound card. Hit record and go.

There is a bit more to it but that is the idea. Do the arrangements using midi and when you have it exactly right then arm a channel to record the audio and lay down the final audio version.

Thanks
