Midi problem with Sonar 2.2

I've recently added a Radium 61 USB MIDI controller/keyboard to my Sonar 2.2/PIII 800/512MEG/WIN98SE/Aardvark Q10 soundcard setup.

When I launch Sonar it doesn't always recognize the controller as a midi input/output, although I set it up as such. After switching the controller on/off and/or re-launching Sonar once or twice it will eventually start recognizing it.

At which point should I turn on the keyboard so it gets recognized right away in Sonar? Is there a particular order in which this should be done, or is something else the problem? Please note the controller is connected via USB and I installed the appropriate driver that came with the controller.

Thanks for any input :)

I would assume the controller should be on first.Just guessing though.
USB peripihials can be "hot" plugged while the computer's running.I'm assuming if it's not on when Sonar is booted, that Sonar will not recognise it.

You could go to control panel/settings/device manger and look under the usb listings while the controller is turned off and see if the controller shows up when not plugged in.
