my midi/game port will send data from the PC to the Keyboard Controller but not the other way around, all programs act like its not there. Im wondering if theres a certain driver not installed or something. I got the midi enabled in bios cuz its an onboard thing with my motherboard (asus - a8n sli deluxe)

the mpu-401 driver is installed in device manager and also the standard game port is installed as well.

i have no idea what it is cuz it just wont recoginze the keyboard controller trying to SEND data to the midi program. (reason 3.0 and cakewalk and fruityloops) just to name a few.

i cant find any info on this anywhere.

thx for reading.

You don't know what bump is?
What would you do with a thread that you wan't to keep near the top???

Bad cable seems the most likely culprit, in this situation.

Does your computer recognize any type of MIDI in device (Usually named the same as output device)???

i know its not the cables because i installed my old sblive to test it on there and it worked perfectly! so i have no idea....like i said no recognition from keyboard to pc ...but works other way around... aaagh i have no idea.

does anyone have a solution? im starting to think its this onboard midi port, but the it works fine as game port and also works fine as i mentioned above, or maybe not the correct drivers, should the mpu-401 compatible driver work both ways in and out? cuz it wont receive the data from my keyboard to the pc!

or is it possible that only the midi in works on this gameport?! im lost and asus has no suppport on there onboard midi connectors whats so ever.

Yes it does recoginize the Midi IN and Mpu-401 is what its called and thats the same name as my midi out i think thats the problem, so the midi in works fine and i can play midi files from my pc and my keyboard receives them.
