Midi not working on Cubase 5 Essential

I have m audio uno, a keyboard and cubase 5 essential

keyboard and uno work fine ... checked them on another system

cubase picks up the uno in and out port but no input or outputs are being picked up

I have checked all settings in cubase in Midi devices and preferences to no avail

anyone got any ideas?? I run cubase on windows 7 64bit.

did you install the latest driver? Was the other system you checked it on 64bit as well?

Hi the lastest driver is installed from the M Audio Site

The other system was 64 bit which leads me to suspect its an issue with Cusbase 5 but I cannot see anything wrong in Midi devices, Midi Preferences etc all appear to be detected and I cannot see why it not picking up inputs/output

I also checked the midi record with the virtual keyboard in cubase and that works fine
